The Culpeper is named after Nicholas Culpeper, the renown herbalist who lived in the areas during the 17th century. The Culpeper is expanding over four floors. The pub and restaurant are found at ground and first floor whilst the Boutique Hotel and Roof Terrace are located on the second and third floor. The staff and store areas are found at basement levels.

FIMA had been appointed to design and construct the Boutique Hotel and Roof Terrace of the Culpeper as well as to carry out some smaller improvements to the Pub and Restaurant spaces.

The design represents the alternative and vibrant area of Brick Lane. The use of reclaimed bricks, oak panelling, rough and smooth plaster wall finishes created by local arts, timber floors and local designs to indicate the premises areas for the customers bring together a design that represents unconventionality and variety.
