Our brief: VERY SAMBA!

SUSHI SAMBA is an international success story proposing an offering of high-end food and drinks in visually stunning settings. The project's area occupies the famed Opera Terrace within Covent Garden’s historic Grade II listed Market Building.

The Covent Garden Market buildings are listed at Grade II* and are situated within in the Covent Garden Conservation Area in the City of Westminster. Today the Market of Covent Garden is a major tourist destination welcoming more than 40 million visitors a year.

The project envisions the outdoor area of SUSHISAMBA in the north-east side of the Market. The proposal looks to incorporate 52 seating spaces serviceable by the new proposed external bar and service station to operate all year round.

It is proposed to place an external bar and service station within the existing boundary surrounded by bespoke flower stations.

The proposed bar is expected to greatly increase the restaurant's visibility by establishing a clear presence in the north-east side of the square which will support the inflow of customers into the main restaurant and create a more buzzing atmosphere to this side of the market.

The bar and service station design has been carefully studied. We have taken inspiration from the culinary experience at Sushi Samba, variety and colour. The bar design is full of colour and is lively, whilst maintaining an elegant design approach. We are using high-end quality materials; bespoke lava glazed tiles, marble and brass which blends perfectly into the Covent Garden atmosphere and context.
